MW Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Utah State’s Devin Pancake has been named the Mountain West Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Air Force’s Jaret Prete was tabbed the MW Men’s Field Athlete and San José State’s Jeremiah Walker was named the MW Men’s Freshman of the Week.

San José State’s Gabrielle Spencer has been selected as the MW Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while New Mexico’s Elizabeth White was named the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and Utah State’s Krysthina Vlahovic was tabbed the MW Women’s Freshman of the Week

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 

DEVIN PANCAKE, UTAH STATE

Senior, Springville, Utah/Springville HS

  • Won the 3,000-meter race at the Mark Colligan Memorial Invite with a time of 8:09.4.
  • Time ranks fifth in Utah State history and third in the MW this season.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 

JARET PRETE, AIR FORCE

Senior, Amherst, Ohio/ Steele HS

  • Finished second and the top collegiate finisher in the weight throw at the Ralph Lindeman Invitational throwing a season-best mark of 19.75 meters.
  • Mark also set a new Air Force senior class record.
  • Mark leads the MW and ranks among the top 50 in the nation this season.
MEN'S FRESHMAN ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 

JEREMIAH WALKER, SAN JOSÉ STATE

Fresno, California/Central HS

  • Won the 200-meter dash at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational with a time of 21.42.
  • Top time in the MW in 2022-23.
  • Also anchored the 4x400 relay that took first place.
WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 

GABRIELLE SPENCER, SAN JOSÉ STATE

Junior, Stockton, California/Franklin HS

  • Won the 200-meter dash at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational with a time of 24.35.
  • The top 200-meter time in the MW this season.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 

ELIZABETH WHITE, NEW MEXICO

Sophomore, Las Vegas, Nevada/Silverado HS

  • Won the long jump in her Lobo debut at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational with a mark of 6.22 meters.
  • Top mark in the MW and the eighth-best jump in the nation this season.
WOMEN'S FRESHMAN ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 

KRYSTHINA VLAHOVIC, UTAH STATE

Surrey, British Columbia, Canada/Fraser Heights Secondary School

  • Placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles at the Mark Colligan Memorial Invite with a time of 8.88.
  • Time ranks fifth in the MW and first among MW freshman this season.
  • Also placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.82.
