At about 1:00 PM on January 7, 2026, a delivery driver reported being robbed in the 400 block of Sinton Avenue in the Stratmoor Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County. According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, two suspects—a man and a woman—allegedly threatened the victim with a handgun and stole their vehicle. The suspects dragged the victim approximately 50 feet as they tried to stop the theft.

Deputies responded to the scene after being notified, but by that time, the suspects had already left.

Detectives from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office worked with the State of Colorado Department of Corrections Adult Parole Division and identified Dominic Ray Bryan, age 31, and Zhane Molina, age 26, as suspects. Records indicated that Bryan was on parole for an earlier aggravated robbery conviction.

On January 12, deputies joined with members of the Colorado Springs Police Department and Colorado State Patrol during a Beat Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement (BATTLE) operation. During this operation, officers recovered the stolen vehicle. Later that day, both Bryan and Molina were located and arrested without incident.

Both individuals are now held at El Paso County Jail on $25,000 bonds each. They face charges including aggravated robbery, second-degree motor vehicle theft, menacing, attempted vehicular assault, and reckless endangerment. In addition to these charges, Bryan faces a parole violation charge.

El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal commented on the case: “Violent, convicted criminals who continue to endanger our community will be held accountable. This case underscores the real-world consequences of Colorado laws which too often allow repeat offenders to be released back into our communities. When accountability is weakened, innocent people are put at risk. It also highlights the importance of specialized law-enforcement operations like the BATTLE Task Force and the strength of our partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies. Together, these efforts allow us to protect victims, recover stolen property, and keep dangerous offenders off our streets.”
