Three members of the Air Force Falcons men’s ice hockey team were named to the all-Atlantic Hockey teams, according to a March 11 announcement by the league office.
The recognition highlights individual achievements during a season in which Air Force posted its first winning record since 2018-19. Senior defenseman Chris Hedden was selected for the first team, while junior defenseman Nolan Cunningham and junior goalie Dominik Wasik earned third-team honors. The three honorees mark the most for Air Force since four players received similar recognition in the 2011-12 season.
Hedden, from Kalamazoo, Michigan, led all Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) defensemen in goals and points during league play with nine goals and 24 points. He also contributed two power-play goals, two short-handed goals, and had a plus-seven rating over 26 conference games. In total games this season, Hedden led his team with 12 goals and 34 points—figures that rank second nationally among defensemen. He is a five-time AHA Defenseman of the Week and is on the ballot for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Hedden previously made second-team all-conference as a sophomore and is now the first Falcon to earn first-team honors since Will Gavin in 2023-24.
Cunningham, from Helena, Montana, finished third among league defensemen in both points (16) and plus-minus (+7) during conference play. His two power-play goals tied for most among AHA blueliners; he scored six total league goals. Across all games this year, Cunningham ranked fifth on his team in both points (20) and goals (7), leading with three game-winning scores.
Wasik, from Superior, Colorado, tied for the AHA lead with 13 wins and three shutouts in conference action. He was second in saves (628) and fifth in goals-against average (2.36). Wasik was recognized as AHA Goalie of the Week four times and Goalie of the Month twice this season. With four shutouts overall—tied for sixth-most nationally—he started Air Force’s last 32 games en route to leading them to 17 victories.
Air Force concluded its regular season at 18-15-4—their best record since their last winning campaign seven years ago—and matched their highest win total since then.
