Texas Tanner earned his first All-America honor of the 2026 season on March 13, finishing as a second-team selection in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The recognition marks an important achievement for Tanner during his senior year. His performance highlights continued progress after previously receiving honorable mention status last year.

Tanner secured 14th place in the national final with a distance of 21.39 meters (70 feet, 2¼ inches) on his second attempt. This throw marked his 32nd career effort of at least 21 meters and resulted in his first All-America citation in the event.

He is scheduled to compete again at the Randal Tyson Track Center on March 14 for the shot put finals at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The competition is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. Central Time.

Tanner’s ongoing participation demonstrates consistency and dedication as he continues to represent his team at a high level.
