Teller County will honor Major Stephen Ramsbottom during the Board of County Commissioners meeting on April 9 at the Centennial Building in Cripple Creek.

The event is significant as it marks Major Ramsbottom’s return home after being wounded in an attack in Kuwait on March 1, which resulted in injuries to 25 servicemembers and the deaths of six others. His recognition underscores both his service and the broader sacrifices made by military personnel.

Major Ramsbottom is a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He has received several awards for his service, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. According to officials, he returned home to Teller County following his recovery from wounds sustained during the Kuwait attack.

The public is invited to attend as Teller County recognizes Major Ramsbottom’s service, sacrifice, and return home. A reception will follow the presentation and honors during the Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Dan Williams, Teller County Commissioner, announced these plans as part of efforts to acknowledge local veterans’ contributions.
