Sophomore Tanner Wilson concluded his participation at the 2026 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving National Championships on March 27 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Wilson, from Sumner, Washington, finished with a time of 1:54.58 in the 200 breaststroke, placing 28th overall and winning his heat for his top national result to date.
The performance marks a significant achievement for Wilson during his second year of collegiate competition. His time closely matched his previous mark from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships.
“Tanner finished a spectacular season with some strong swims at the NCAA Championships as he was right on his time from the MPSF Championships,” said head coach Rob Clayton. “It was great to watch him win his heat in the 200 breast and now he realizes he can compete at this level. He is excited to come back and score at this meet!”
Looking ahead, James Winterfield is set to compete in the 200 individual medley (IM) on Saturday. The event schedule lists preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern Time and finals starting at 6 p.m., including other events such as the 100 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke, platform diving, and the 400 freestyle relay.
Wilson’s results reflect ongoing progress for Air Force Falcons Men’s Swimming & Diving athletes competing on a national stage.
