Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, from 9:30 AM until 3:00 PM EST, Congressman Doug Lamborn will attend the Hudson Institute's workshop, bringing together congressional, government, and industry leaders to explore the future of the American hypersonic missile program. The event will begin with an introduction by General Heather Pringle, United States Air Force (ret.) and representative of the Space Foundation, followed by a keynote address from Congressman Lamborn (R-CO). Expert panels will then discuss hypersonic missile offense and defense, focusing on building bipartisan support for this critical national security initiative.
"As Chairman of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee, I work to ensure that our nation is prepared to deter, defend against, and respond to any attack. The Strategic Forces Subcommittee oversees the United States' nuclear, hypersonics, military space, and missile defense programs. I am particularly concerned with the growing threat from hypersonic missiles, which China and Russia have deployed operationally. We currently have no way of countering these threats, which can be conventional or nuclear-armed. I hope that tomorrow's event will show people the importance of hypersonic missiles and the advancement of our missile defense," said Congressman Lamborn.
Speakers include:
General Heather Pringle, United States Air Force (ret.)
Congressman Doug Lamborn, United States Representative for Colorado's Fifth District
Admiral James A. Winnefeld Jr., Ninth Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
