Congressman Doug Lamborn, Chairman of the House Strategic Forces Subcommittee, has raised concerns over reports that Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Tulsi Gabbard, a decorated military officer and former Congresswoman, has been placed on the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Quiet Skies program—a domestic terror watch list.
LTC Gabbard, who formerly commanded the 440th Civil Affairs Battalion at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, has reportedly been subjected to heightened scrutiny and surveillance by TSA personnel, including Federal Air Marshals, during her travels. This scrutiny raises significant concerns given her role in supporting special operations units and her access to classified national security information.
“The placement of LTC Gabbard on a watch list typically reserved for individuals who pose a security threat is alarming and suggests a potential misuse of federal resources,” said Congressman Doug Lamborn. “As a military commander and former presidential candidate, LTC Gabbard has distinguishedly served our country. This action appears politically motivated and demands immediate oversight.”
In a letter to TSA Administrator David Pekoske, Congressman Doug Lamborn requested detailed information about the process and reasoning behind LTC Gabbard’s inclusion in the Quiet Skies program. He also called for a thorough investigation by relevant Congressional committees to ensure that federal agencies are not being used to target political opponents.
“As a House Armed Services Committee member, I am committed to protecting our national security and ensuring that our government operates fairly and without bias,” Congressman Doug Lamborn added. “This situation raises serious questions that must be answered.”
