5.6% of El Paso County residents considered unemployed in 2021

El Paso County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 21,692 people out of the 722,736 living in El Paso County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in El Paso County has increased compared to the 5.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in El Paso County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.6%.

Of the 366,363 people who had a job during that time, 30,495 were employed in the Armed Forces and 335,868 belonged to the civilian labor force.
