A total of three Mountain West men’s and women’s programs are ranked in the latest NCAA Division I Cross Country polls, released Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
On the women’s side, New Mexico remains second in the national poll with 315 points, just 15 points behind No. 1 North Carolina State. The Lobos have been ranked in the top-two to start the season in four of the last five years, including three times at the No. 2 spot.
Joining New Mexico in the week two poll is Colorado State, ranking No. 14 and earning 173 points. Utah State is receiving votes in the national poll for the first time this season.
In the men’s poll, Air Force remained at No. 11 with 202 points. The Falcons placement at No. 11 matches their highest regular-season ranking since 2018.
Additionally, Boise State and Utah State are receiving votes in the second regular-season poll of 2022.
