Colorado College Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
Colorado College swimmer Cole Thumann earned his second consecutive selection to CoSIDA's Academic all-District At-Large Team and now is eligible for Academic All-America consideration.
Thumann, who will graduate on Sunday, May 23, with a 4.00 grade-point average as a physics major, is the first student-athlete from CC to earn multiple Academic all-District honors since Keenan Amer of the men's soccer team in 2017 and '18.
The Katy, Texas, product was named the school's Van Diest Award winner earlier this month as the top male senior student-athlete. He won the 2020 SCAC champion in the 400-yard individual medley, earned all-conference honors each of his four seasons and is a member of the school-record 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams.
Thumann has received several scholarships during his time at Colorado College for academic success and volunteers with Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity.
The 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Teams will be announced in mid-June.
