At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, Santa Clara Broncos — featuring former Palmer Ridge High School standout Tate Gargasz — fell 12-5 to the UConn Huskies in an NCAA Division I baseball contest.

Stephen Schott Stadium was the venue for the teams’ first meeting this season.

Gargasz pitched 1.1 innings, allowing two earned runs and issuing one walk.

The Broncos are set to face the San Francisco Dons next on Friday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Benedetti Diamond.
