Air Force football players Roger Jones, Jr. and Reagan Tubbs have been recognized as Old Trapper Mountain West Players of the Week following their roles in Air Force’s 24-21 victory over Wyoming.
Sophomore safety Jones, Jr. received the defensive player of the week award after making 10 tackles, including six solo stops. He also contributed a tackle for loss and secured his second interception of the season. The interception occurred in the end zone during the fourth quarter with the score tied at 14, helping set up Air Force’s go-ahead possession.
Senior place kicker Tubbs was named special teams player of the week after converting a career-high three field goals and one extra point in his first start this season. Tubbs made field goals from 32, 29, and a personal-best 40 yards—the last coming into the wind to extend Air Force’s lead late in the game. In addition to kicking duties, he handled six kickoffs with three resulting in touchbacks and made a tackle on kickoff coverage.
The Falcons will not play this week but are scheduled to face Army West Point on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Falcon Stadium.
Other Mountain West weekly honors went to Boise State running back Dylan Riley (offensive player) and Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado (freshman).
