Representative Jeff Crank (CO-05) voted in favor of H.R. 7006, the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act for 2026. The legislation addresses funding for various federal government functions, including national security and foreign policy.

The bill aims to reverse several policies from the previous administration while providing resources to the Executive Branch. It includes a provision that directs the Colorado District Court to review whether there is a need for a new courthouse in Colorado Springs, which could lead to the appointment of an Article III judge.

According to Rep. Crank, “House Republicans are keeping their promise to advance the Appropriations process, while cutting out wasteful spending that existed under the Biden Administration. This Appropriations package will advance President Trump’s agenda to make America safer, stronger, and restore common sense to the federal government.”

The appropriations act also maintains existing restrictions on using American taxpayer funds for abortions abroad and supports policies intended to strengthen U.S. border protections and national security.

Other provisions highlighted by supporters include efforts to limit what they describe as government overreach and protect taxpayer dollars through fiscal measures.
