Representative Jeff Crank of Colorado’s 5th District voted in support of the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act. The legislation is designed to reduce health care premium costs, increase access to quality care, offer more coverage options and flexibility, and improve transparency within the U.S. health care system.

“My constituents deserve a health care system which always puts them first,” said Rep. Crank. “The Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act will give common-sense solutions to restore our nation’s health care system and lower premium costs.”

The act includes measures such as appropriating cost-sharing reduction payments aimed at stabilizing premiums for individuals eligible through the Marketplace. According to information provided, this approach is expected to decrease premium costs by 11 percent and also lower out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles and copays for low-income individuals.

Additionally, the bill seeks to ensure that self-insurance remains an affordable and accessible option for small businesses so they can continue offering quality health benefits to employees. Another provision requires pharmacy benefit managers to disclose drug formulary and pricing details to employers, enabling businesses to negotiate better prices on behalf of their employees.
