Rep. Jeff Crank, a U.S. Congressman representing Colorado’s 5th district, recently posted several updates on his social media account, reflecting on historical remembrance and local community events.

On December 7, 2025, Rep. Crank marked the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor by quoting President Franklin D. Roosevelt: “A date which will live in infamy.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Today, on the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we remember the 2,403 lives lost.

May we continue to honor those who gave their lives that day by preserving the freedoms they fought to defend. https://t.co/8f8Xatl9LB. The post commemorates the more than two thousand Americans who died during the surprise military strike by Japan against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

The following day, December 8, 2025, Rep. Crank shared his participation in a local holiday event: Joy to the world

On December 9, 2025, Rep. Crank noted a longstanding tradition based in Colorado Springs: For 70 years, @NoradSanta has provided up-to-the minute information on Santa’s journey from Peterson Space Force Base here in Colorado Springs.

NORAD tracks Santa on his sleigh, pulled by nine reindeer including their leader Rudolph, as he travels around the world to give gifts https://t.co/FQRYDlCgTG. NORAD’s Santa Tracker began as an accidental phone call in 1955 and has since become an annual program operated out of Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs that allows children worldwide to follow Santa Claus’s journey each Christmas Eve.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is observed annually across the United States to honor those killed or wounded during the attack and serves as a reminder of its significance in leading America into World War II.

The NORAD Tracks Santa program has become a notable holiday tradition both locally and internationally over its seven decades of operation.
