Rep. Jeff Crank, U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, shared updates on legislative actions and local funding initiatives through a series of posts on February 4, 2026.
In one post, Crank announced funding for local infrastructure improvements: “Also included in this package is $1 million to support safety improvements at Constitution Avenue and Peterson Road in #CO05. These improvements will ensure the safety of the constituents in my district and its visitors.” (February 4, 2026).
He also highlighted recent congressional action related to federal spending and military pay: “By passing the Consolidated Appropriations Act yesterday, @HouseGOP is working to fund critical programs and a pay increase for our military.” (February 4, 2026). The Consolidated Appropriations Act typically provides annual funding for federal agencies and includes allocations for defense and domestic programs.
Later that day, Crank referenced passage of new legislation focused on mineral resources: “PASSED: Critical Mineral Dominance Act We cannot afford to be falling behind China. Codifying President Trump’s EO will support hardrock mining in the U.S., boost supply chain resiliency, create jobs, and break our reliance on China.” (February 4, 2026). The Critical Mineral Dominance Act aims to strengthen domestic mining capabilities by codifying an executive order from former President Trump intended to secure critical mineral supply chains within the United States.
These updates come as Congress continues efforts to address national security concerns tied to supply chain dependencies—especially regarding minerals essential for technology manufacturing—and invest in community-level infrastructure projects across congressional districts.
