Air Force junior fullback Owen Allen has been named the National Football Foundation, Colorado Chapter, Player of the Week following his performance in Air Force’s 42-21 victory over Colorado State.
Allen rushed for 107 yards and achieved a career-high two touchdowns on 25 carries. His first touchdown came on a six-yard run in the first quarter, putting the Falcons ahead 14-0. He played a significant role in an offense that accumulated 147 total yards and controlled possession for over twelve minutes in the opening quarter, while limiting Colorado State to only six plays. Allen’s second touchdown secured the final score of the game with just over three minutes left.
During this game, Allen surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for his career, making him the 64th player and 21st fullback in Air Force history to reach this milestone. This was also his fifth game of the season with at least 100 rushing yards, leading his team in that category.
This is Allen’s first time receiving this weekly honor and he is also the first Falcon to be recognized with it this season. The Air Force football team concluded its season with a record of four wins and eight losses overall, finishing eighth in the Mountain West Conference with a conference record of three wins and five losses.
