Air Force Women’s Basketball secured a 76-57 victory over San Jose State on Saturday at the Provident Credit Union Event Center in San Jose, California. The win was led by junior Keelie O’Hollaren, who matched her career high with 25 points and hit five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. Senior Milahnie Perry contributed 20 points, a career-high nine rebounds, and tied her career best with five steals. Junior Jayda McNabb added 13 points.
The Falcons achieved season highs with 76 total points and 30 bench points. They also went a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line, marking the most makes without a miss by any Mountain West team so far this season.
Air Force started strong with a 16-2 run but saw their lead cut to two after a cold streak in the second quarter. Freshman Bhret Clay’s buzzer-beating three-pointer helped Air Force end the first quarter ahead, but San Jose State managed to take a brief lead at halftime following a steal and score by Katarina Anderson.
San Jose State built its largest lead of four points early in the third quarter before Air Force responded with a decisive 21-2 run. O’Hollaren scored 14 points in that period, making four out of five three-point attempts and helping push the Falcons to a double-digit advantage entering the fourth quarter.
Perry led all scorers in the final quarter as Air Force extended its lead to as much as 22 points before closing out their second Mountain West Conference win of the season.
The Falcons led San Jose State in several statistical categories including field goals made (26), field goal attempts (63), three-pointers made (nine), free throws made (15) and attempted (15), rebounds (43), assists (17), points off turnovers (21), second-chance points (13), bench points (30), points in the paint (30), fast break points (16), and blocks (two).
Air Force now holds an overall record of 8-8 and is set to return home to Clune Arena on Wednesday, January 14 to host Colorado State.
