Air Force received two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Fencing Annual Awards, the conference office announced on Mar. 30. Senior Jack Griffith was named MPSF Men’s Fencer of the Year, while Adi Nott was recognized as Assistant Coach of the Year.
These awards highlight notable achievements for both individuals and the Air Force fencing program. The recognition reflects a season marked by individual excellence and team milestones.
Griffith, from Naples, Florida, won the 2026 NCAA West Regional Championship in foil competition before placing second at the MPSF Championships to earn first team all-conference honors and his third career conference medal. He led Air Force to its first-ever conference title and was named All-American for a second time after finishing 11th nationally and helping his team secure a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Championships. During Northwestern’s Schiller Duels held Jan. 31-Feb. 1, Griffith achieved a perfect record of 24-0 against eight teams, including a sweep against defending national champion Notre Dame, which earned him MPSF Fencer of the Week honors in Evanston, Illinois. He is now a three-time recipient of an MPSF annual award and is noted as the first men’s fencer to earn multiple Fencer of the Year honors in conference history.
Nott serves as assistant coach for foil in her fifth year with Air Force and qualified three fencers for this year’s NCAA Championships: Melissa Kline on the women’s side; Jack Griffith—who also earned first team All-MPSF—and Richard Li on men’s competition. At nationals, Griffith recorded twelve wins en route to his All-American selection; Li posted eight victories; Kline finished with seven wins for an individual placement of eighteenth overall among women competitors. Under Nott’s guidance, Air Force men captured their inaugural MPSF team championship this season.
This marks Nott’s second career Assistant Coach of the Year award from MPSF (previously honored in 2023), while Sebastien Dos Santos received it for Air Force in 2025.
