Four members of the Air Force men’s gymnastics team received all-conference honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on April 6, following their performances at last week’s conference championship meet in San Luis Obispo, California.
The recognition highlights the achievements of sophomores Jared Fry and Jack Thomas Foltyn, who each earned multiple all-MPSF honors. Fry secured the MPSF all-around title at the championships and was also named to the all-league teams for floor exercise and still rings. Foltyn was recognized for his performances on vault and parallel bars after leading Air Force in those events.
Seniors Sam Brown and Tai Gopaul also earned spots among Air Force’s honorees. Brown placed fourth on pommel horse, while Gopaul finished fourth on high bar during the MPSF Championships. This marks Gopaul’s third career all-MPSF award; he previously received honors as a sophomore (parallel bars) and junior (high bar). For Fry, Foltyn, and Brown, this is their first time being named to an all-conference team.
The selection process for these honors includes automatic spots for top gymnasts from each school in every event at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. Additionally, one gymnast per event is chosen as an at-large selection based on having the highest remaining score across teams.
Air Force will conclude its season by competing at the NCAA Championships in Champaign, Illinois, scheduled for April 17-18.
