El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal, along with deputies, staff, volunteers, and county partners, marked a significant step in the construction of the new El Paso County Sheriff’s Office substation in Falcon, Colorado on Friday. The event celebrated the installation of the final structural truss for the facility.
The “Topping” ceremony is an important milestone in building projects. It included an opportunity for stakeholders to sign the last truss before it was put into place.
Sheriff Joseph Roybal stated, “This project represents years of planning and a strong commitment to keeping pace with the growth of our community. This substation will strengthen our ability to serve residents, reduce victimization, and ensure deputies have the resources needed to protect one of the fastest-growing areas of El Paso County. We can’t wait to open the doors in Fall 2026 and celebrate this milestone with the citizens of El Paso County.”
Once completed in fall 2026, this will be the first full-service stand-alone substation for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. The new facility aims to expand law enforcement presence in northern and eastern parts of El Paso County. It is expected to support proactive patrols and increase visibility in unincorporated areas while improving cooperation with other public safety agencies as local population growth continues.
The substation is located at 12062 Royal County Downs Road next to Falcon Fire Protection District Station 1. According to officials, its development reflects long-term planning efforts intended to reduce crime victimization rates and maintain high service standards for residents and businesses throughout Pikes Peak region.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation for support from organizations including the Board of County Commissioners, Falcon Fire Protection District, D2C Architects, Buildings by Design L.L.C., as well as all others involved in making this project possible.
