Dr. Mark Clifford, head coach of the Air Force boxing team, sat down with FalconVision ahead of his second season to provide an update on fall training and discuss the outlook for the 2025 season. The interview also covered a recap of the team’s notable achievements during the previous year, including winning its first-ever women’s national team title.
Clifford highlighted that six out of eight women from last year’s National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) championship-winning squad will return this season. Among these returning athletes are four individual national champions.
The upcoming 2025 campaign is set to begin with the first Friday Night Fights event in the Cadet Gym Boxing Room on September 12. This marks an early opportunity for both returning and new boxers to showcase their skills as they prepare for another competitive year.
The success in 2024 has brought increased attention to the program, especially following its historic accomplishment in women’s collegiate boxing. With a strong core group coming back, expectations remain high for continued performance at both individual and team levels.
Looking forward, Clifford’s leadership is expected to play a significant role as Air Force aims to build upon last year’s successes while developing new talent throughout the season.
