Senior Ted Davenport led the Air Force golf team during the inaugural Pearl at Kalauoa Invitational, held November 5-6 at the Pearl at Kalauo Golf Course in ‘Aiea, O’ahu.
Davenport posted a score of 223 (+7) over the two-day, 54-hole event. Junior Carson Baker finished one stroke behind with a 224. Senior Brooks Morrell followed with a 228, junior Eli Huntington scored 230, and senior Eric Liveringhouse completed the tournament with a 231. Competing as individuals, junior Grant Samuelson shot a 225 (+9), placing seventh among individual competitors, while sophomore Jackson Scaletta carded a 234.
During the opening round, Davenport led the Falcons with a score of 74 (+2). Morrell was close behind with a 75. Among individual participants, Samuelson recorded a 77 and Scaletta an eagle on the par-5, 516-yard 17th hole as part of his round of 78.
In the second round, Air Force achieved a team score of 294 (+6), which ranked as the tenth best round by any team during that session. Baker paced the team with a score of 71 (-1), recording five birdies. Davenport finished with a 73, Morrell had a 74, and Huntington added a 76. Samuelson posted an even-par round of 72.
For the final round, Baker, Huntington and Liveringhouse each shot scores of 75. Davenport concluded his play with a round of 76 that included an eagle on the par-5, 573-yard first hole. Baker notched four birdies in this last round. Samuelson finished his individual competition with another score of 76 while Scaletta made six birdies on his way to shooting a second-round total of 78.
With this event completed, Air Force has finished its fall season schedule and will resume competition February 15-17 at the Loyola Invitational at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona.
