Senior Ted Davenport and junior Carson Baker led the Air Force golf team during the first round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate tournament on Monday, September 8. The event took place at American Dunes Golf Course in Grand Haven, Michigan.
Both Davenport and Baker posted scores of 77 (+6) in the opening round. Davenport recorded four birdies, three of which came on the front nine. Baker made 13 pars alongside five bogeys. Other contributors included senior Eric Liveringhouse with a score of 79, senior Brooks Morrell at 80, and junior Eli Huntington at 81.
The Air Force Falcons are tied for 14th place with Army after finishing with a team score of 313 (+29). Navy stands just ahead in 13th position with a score of 300 (+16). Alabama, ranked No.18 nationally and last year’s Folds of Honor champion, is tied for first place with Notre Dame—both teams scored a collective 285 (+1).
The tournament continues with its second round on Tuesday, September 9. Play begins at 7:30 am ET at American Dunes Golf Course; the first Air Force golfer tees off at 7:57 am ET.
