C3C Annika Jost has become the first women’s soccer player from Air Force to be named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American. The announcement was made by CSC officials on Wednesday.
Head coach Laura Busby commented on the recognition, stating, “Our staff is so proud of Anni and all the well-deserved recognition she received this season. She is the perfect example of what it means to pursue excellence in all you do at the Air Force Academy.”
Jost secured a place on the CSC Academic All-American Third Team following her role as a key midfielder for Air Force and maintaining the highest grade point average among her teammates. As an Electrical and Computer Engineering major, she contributed to one of Air Force’s most successful seasons in recent years, with eight overall wins and six conference victories—marking their best regular season since 1995.
The Temecula, California native became only the second Falcon to receive Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year honors in program history. She is also just the tenth women’s athlete at the Academy to earn a conference player of the year award. In single-season records, Jost now ranks sixth all-time for Air Force with 10 goals and eighth with 25 points. Additionally, she recorded the team’s first hat trick since 2021 during a match against San Jose State.
Busby added, “We are thrilled to have someone with her leadership qualities in our program; she is only a sophomore, so the best is yet to come!”
Eligibility for this award requires student-athletes to be sophomores or higher with at least a 3.50 GPA. They must also have participated in at least 90% of their team’s games and been active contributors on the field.
