The Air Force wrestling team will compete against No. 15 Oklahoma in a Big 12 Conference dual meet scheduled for Jan. 16 at McCasland Field House in Norman, Oklahoma.

This matchup is important as both teams seek their first conference win of the season and aim to build momentum during the Big 12 slate. The event will be broadcast on ESPN+, with live updates available through TrackWrestling.com.

Air Force enters the contest with a record of four wins and two losses overall, including an 0-1 mark in conference competition. The Falcons’ lineup features senior team captain Tucker Owens at the 125-pound class, who leads the team with fifteen wins this season and remains undefeated in dual meets at five wins and no losses. Freshman Karson Tompkins maintains his national ranking at No. 32 according to Flo rankings, while sophomore Carter Nogle has achieved a strong start this year with thirteen victories and only three defeats.

Oklahoma holds a record of seven wins and two losses overall (0-1 Big 12). Their projected lineup includes several nationally ranked wrestlers such as Carter Schubert (No.8/8) at the 174-pound weight class, Brian Soldano (No.11/11) at the 184-pound division, DJ Parker (No.9/11) at the 197-pound class, and Juan Mora (No.22/21) competing at heavyweight.

Last weekend, Air Force had six place winners at the David H. Lehman ’68 F&M Open—the most ever for Falcons athletes at that event—with Logan Fowler securing a notable victory over two-time NCAA qualifier Cesar Alvan from Columbia University by a score of six to zero. Additionally, Air Force sent wrestlers to compete in Gunnison, Colorado’s Western Colorado Open where five Falcons won titles among twelve total place-winning finishes.

Looking ahead, Air Force will continue its conference schedule by traveling to face South Dakota State on Jan.30 followed by North Dakota State on Feb.1.
