The Air Force women’s swimming team completed the second day of competition at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships on March 13 in Ocala, Florida. The event took place at the FAST Facility and featured several Falcon swimmers competing in various events.
The meet is significant as it provides an opportunity for collegiate swimmers to compete at a national level and gain experience against top athletes from across the country.
Naomi Furman represented Air Force in the finals of the 100 breaststroke, finishing ninth with a time of 1:01.94 after posting a preliminary time of 1:01.56. In other events, Elizabeth Sistrunk swam a 4:28.06 in the preliminaries of the 400 individual medley, while Hanani Dona finished with a time of 4:29.83 and Jena Nowoswiat recorded a time of 4:33.89 in the same event.
Freshman Natalie Doig competed in the 100 butterfly, logging a time of 55.69 seconds for Air Force. Brynn Bond participated in the 200 freestyle and finished with a time of 1:51.73. In the 100 backstroke, Kai-Min Tsuei posted Air Force’s fastest time at 55.49 seconds, followed by Bond at 56.40 seconds.
The Falcons are scheduled to conclude their participation in the championship on Saturday, March 14, with preliminaries beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by finals later that evening.
