Air Force Women’s Tennis secured a narrow 4-3 victory over Fresno State on March 22, completing an undefeated weekend in California. The Falcons have now won five of their last six matches and improved to a 3-1 record against Mountain West opponents.

The win is significant for Air Force, as it demonstrates the team’s growing momentum in conference play. With this result, the Falcons’ overall record stands at 6-10.

The match began with Air Force taking the doubles point for the seventh consecutive time and eighth out of their last nine matches. Arianna Van Houweling and Shivaani Sevlan claimed their sixth straight victory as a pair on line two, while Maya Michalski and Jariahlyn Rhoades secured a convincing win on court three. In singles play, Van Houweling extended the lead with a straight-set win over Paulina Montiel, improving her dual singles record to 7-2.

Rhoades contributed by earning her first dual singles win for Air Force against Louna Cormier. However, Fresno State responded by winning three consecutive singles matches to tie the score at three apiece. The decisive point came from junior Nadia Kojonroj, who overcame an early deficit in her third set to clinch both her third-straight dual singles victory and the overall team win.

“I’m extremely proud of this team’s fight today and their ability to adjust on every court,” said head coach Taylor Hollander. “Fresno State is always a tough opponent—you have to battle for every point and can’t give anything away. Today this group made huge strides in their match play and I am extremely proud of their efforts.”

Looking ahead, Air Force Women’s Tennis will continue its road trip with upcoming matches against San Diego State and Grand Canyon scheduled for March 27 in San Diego and March 29 in Phoenix.
