Falcons women’s soccer will host Utah State in their first home Mountain West match of the season at Cadet Soccer Stadium on Thursday, October 2 at 6 p.m. MT. The team currently holds a record of 2-5-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while Utah State enters the match with a 4-4-3 overall record and is unbeaten in conference play at 1-0-1.

Entry procedures at the U.S. Air Force Academy require anyone without a Department of Defense ID card to obtain a visitor pass. Passes are now issued monthly, allowing ticket holders to access all events within that month after completing one form. Ticket holders will receive an electronic message to present at the gate and must also show their game tickets upon entry. Both North and South gates are open for access, with the North gate recommended for athletic fields.
Air Force has faced Utah State 16 times since their first meeting in 1996, which resulted in an away loss for the Falcons. In their most recent match on September 28, Air Force lost to Grand Canyon University by a score of 4-2 during their Mountain West opener. On defense, Jordan Dillingham has played a team-high 750 minutes and scored her first career goal against Northern Colorado. Team captain Samantha Sharp, Raine Komata, and Ava Carpentier have contributed significantly in midfield roles.
Freshmen AJ Heap and Zahra Friess have each scored their first collegiate goals this season; Heap has appeared in all nine games so far while Friess logged her first start against Northern Colorado.
In goalkeeping duties, freshman Trishelle Lopez has started seven matches totaling over six hundred minutes played with thirty saves made this season (.698 save percentage). She earned USAFA’s Cadet Athlete of the Week honors after posting her first collegiate shutout against Rutgers along with six saves—a personal best matched twice more this year. Veteran goalkeeper Kylie McElroy started two games early in the season including a shutout win over Gonzaga where she made seven saves.
Within Mountain West Conference rankings, Air Force is fourth in total shots (142) tied with Utah State; fifth in scoring average (1.33 goals/game); sixth among goalkeepers for combined saves (40). Individually, Borntreger ranks fifth for shots per game (2.67) while Lopez’s save rate places her fifth conference-wide as well as top hundred nationally.
Nationally recognized metrics place Air Force thirty-eighth for shots on goal per game (7.44) and fifty-sixth overall for shots per game (15.78).
Following Thursday’s match against Utah State, Air Force will remain home to face Boise State on Sunday October 5 at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
