Air Force women’s soccer will host Northern Colorado on Friday, September 19, at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network, with live statistics available via StatBroadcast.

This game marks a special occasion for the Falcons as they plan to debut their alternate uniforms honoring the United States Space Force.

To attend the match, visitors without Department of Defense identification are required to obtain a visitor pass for entry to the U.S. Air Force Academy. This year, passes are being issued monthly instead of per event, allowing ticket holders access to all events within that month after one registration. Ticket holders can request a base pass using this link and will receive instructions via phone for presentation at the gate upon arrival. All attendees must also show their game tickets and can enter through either the North or South gate; however, North gate is recommended for athletic field access.

The Falcons have faced Northern Colorado 22 times since their first meeting in 1992. While Air Force holds a record of 6-14-2 against Northern Colorado, they won last season’s encounter 4-0 in Greeley. Over these matches, Northern Colorado has outscored Air Force by a margin of 33-18.

In their most recent outing, Air Force lost 2-0 to UCCS despite outshooting them 15-12 and creating several scoring opportunities. “Despite outshooting the Mountain Lions 15-12 with strong attacking opportunities, Air Force could not manage a goal.” The team saw shots on goal from Annika Jost, Peyton Ferrell, Kendall Rippley, and Zahra Friess. Goalkeeper Trishelle Lopez made two saves during the match.

On offense this season, Air Force averages one goal per game with seven goals scored across their matches so far. Annika Jost leads with five points from two goals and an assist; Chase Borntreger follows with three points (one goal and one assist) and leads in total shots taken with sixteen.

Defensively, Jordan Dillingham has accumulated over 580 minutes on the field alongside captains Samantha Sharp and Raine Komata. Ava Carpentier has contributed significantly in midfield.

Freshman goalkeeper Trishelle Lopez has started five games this season with a .714 save percentage from twenty saves over four hundred fifty minutes played. She earned her first collegiate shutout against Rutgers along with USAFA’s Cadet Athlete of the Week honors. Veteran Kylie McElroy opened the season as starting goalkeeper in two matches including a shutout win over Gonzaga where she recorded seven saves.

The Falcons currently rank fourth in total shots (104) within the Mountain West Conference and sixth in saves (30). Individually, Chase Borntreger stands among conference leaders for shots taken while Trishelle Lopez ranks sixth in saves per game among conference peers and is nationally ranked as well.

Following Friday’s matchup against Northern Colorado, Air Force will open its Mountain West schedule facing Grand Canyon University on Sunday, September 28 in Phoenix.
