Air Force women’s soccer will travel to San Jose, California, for their final regular season away match against San Jose State on Thursday, October 23. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be available via live stream on the Mountain West Network.
The Falcons currently hold a record of 6-6-3 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play. Their most recent win was a 4-2 victory over Nevada, where freshman Sammi Kinoshita scored twice—her first collegiate goals—and was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week. Chase Borntreger and Zahra Friess also contributed goals in that match. Goalkeeper Trishelle Lopez recorded five saves, while Eleanor Musgrove provided two assists.
Before their last home game, Air Force honored Addie Doyle for overcoming thyroid cancer as part of their Cancer Awareness Match.
On offense, Air Force averages 1.60 goals per game with nine different players having scored this season. Annika Jost leads the team with five goals and two assists for twelve points. Defensively, Jordan Dillingham has played a team-high 1,195 minutes and contributed one goal. Team captain Samantha Sharp and midfielders Raine Komata and Ava Carpentier have been key in both defense and transition play.
Freshmen have made significant contributions throughout the season. AJ Heap scored her first collegiate goal against Northern Colorado and has started twelve matches. Zahra Friess has three goals and one assist in 470 minutes played. Ellie McCarron has three assists in appearances across all matches.
In goal, freshman Trishelle Lopez has started thirteen games, totaling 1,170 minutes with fifty-two saves and a .722 save percentage. She earned Cadet Athlete of the Week honors after her first shutout against Rutgers and posted another shutout at Wyoming.
Veteran goalkeeper Kylie McElroy opened the season with two starts, including a shutout win at Gonzaga where she made seven saves.
Currently ranked second in the Mountain West Conference behind Boise State, Air Force is third in total goals (24) and points (69), fourth in assists (21), and eighth in total saves (64). Individually, Annika Jost ranks seventh in conference for goals scored (five) while Trishelle Lopez is fifth for saves per game (four).
San Jose State enters the matchup with a record of 1-11-3 overall and is last in conference standings following a recent loss to Colorado State. Paige Pineda Allamus leads the Spartans with five goals this season.
After facing San Jose State, Air Force will return home to host Fresno State on Sunday, October 26 for their final regular season match, which will include Senior Day recognition before kickoff.
