Air Force Women’s Gymnastics finished in second place at a home tri-meet against No. 23 Denver and San Jose State, scoring a program-record 196.425 on Mar. 7 at Cadet West Gym. The Falcons’ performance topped their all-time program record for the third time this season and clinched a share of the Mountain West regular season title, marking the first such achievement in Air Force history.
The event was significant as it not only showcased individual and team excellence but also represented a milestone for the program, reflecting its growth and competitiveness within collegiate gymnastics.
During the meet, Air Force opened with a vault score of 48.975, highlighted by junior Olivia Raife’s career-best 9.850 and matched by teammate Slife. On bars, Slife scored a meet-high 9.975—tying her own career best as well as both Air Force and Mountain West all-time scores—while senior Kylee Greene added a strong performance with a 9.800.
The team’s beam routine stood out with a collective score of 49.300, their second highest ever on that apparatus. Slife led again with a first-place finish at 9.925; Greene achieved her first career 9.900; sophomore Anna Bacott earned her third consecutive score of at least 9.850; while Alyssa Bigler, Gabi Hartley, and Rosa Juarez Baez contributed solid performances.
On floor exercise, Slife and Bigler shared top honors with scores of 9.900 each while Greene matched her personal best at 9.875 and Bacott set her own new high mark in just her first year competing in the event.
In all-around competition, Slife tied her own all-time record with a total score of 39.650 to secure champion status; Greene posted a career-high for third place; Bigler finished fourth overall.
Head Coach Jennifer Green said about winning the regular-season title: “It’s a huge accomplishment for this team! The connection, belief, rituals and routines that we share are the reason we are continuing to build… These athletes aren’t satisfied – They’re hungry for much more.” Green added regarding their progress this season: “I believe in my heart that they are now seeing what I’ve seen in them all along… getting this team in front of top teams… has all helped peoples impressions of Air Force Gymnastics.” She also spoke about Team 50’s camaraderie: “It’s easy to see the love these young ladies have for each other… Truth, faith and love are how you achieve competitive greatness.”
Looking ahead, Air Force will compete again Monday evening against Denver at Magness Arena.
