Air Force Women’s Basketball will travel to Laramie to play the Wyoming Cowgirls on Saturday, January 17 at 2 p.m. Mountain Time. The game will be held at the Arena-Auditorium and can be viewed on the Mountain West Network or heard on XtraSports AM 1300 with Ryan Kaufman providing commentary.
The Falcons enter the matchup with an 8-9 overall record and a 2-5 mark in Mountain West play, while Wyoming holds a 4-12 record and is 1-6 in conference games. Air Force’s last contest ended in a narrow loss to Colorado State, 65-63. Senior Milahnie Perry scored a career-high 31 points, going 12-for-21 from the field and making three of four attempts from beyond the arc. Perry’s performance moved her into fifth place all-time in Air Force career scoring and tied for the highest single-game point total by any player in the Mountain West this season.
Junior Keelie O’Hollaren added 16 points against Colorado State, shooting five-of-eight from the floor and making three of six three-point shots. This marked her third consecutive game with double-digit scoring and fourth straight game shooting at least .455 from three-point range.
“Late game heroics had Air Force Women’s Basketball within three points of a lead with four seconds to play on Wednesday night against Colorado State, but the Falcons were unable to overcome, as Air Force fell, 65-63, to the Rams in Clune Arena,” according to team officials.
As a team, Air Force currently ranks second in turnovers forced per game (18.47) and third in steals per game (9.9), scoring defense (59.8), and offensive rebounding (12.3) among Mountain West programs. Perry leads all scorers in the conference with an average of 17.3 points per game.
In recent games, O’Hollaren has averaged nearly eighteen points while maintaining strong accuracy from long range over her past three outings.
Jayda McNabb has also contributed significantly for Air Force this season. She leads the Mountain West and is third nationally in offensive rebounds per game (4.5). McNabb also ranks among conference leaders for steals (2.29 per game) and total rebounds (7.8 per game), while averaging almost eight points each contest with a team-best field goal percentage of .515.
Recent trends show that Air Force has won most games when leading at halftime or when holding opponents below sixty points, especially at home.
Perry continues her climb up Air Force’s all-time scoring chart; she now sits at fifth place with 1,537 career points—seventy-eight away from fourth place overall—and remains within reach of breaking both school-wide and Division I program records before season’s end if current production continues.
After facing Wyoming, Air Force will next play UNLV on January 21.
