Air Force will host Utah State in a Mountain West Conference women’s basketball rematch on Wednesday, February 4 at Clune Arena. The game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and XtraSports AM 1300.
The Falcons enter the matchup with a 9-12 overall record and a 3-8 mark in conference play, while Utah State stands at 6-15 overall and 2-10 in the Mountain West. Air Force is coming off a comeback win against Fresno State, where they overcame a double-digit deficit to secure a 61-56 victory. Senior Milahnie Perry led all scorers with 27 points, while senior Emily Adams set a new career high with 14 points. Junior Jayda McNabb recorded six points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds, the highest single-game total in the Mountain West this season.
“We appreciate the patience of our fans and look forward to welcoming them back to our athletics events with this completed project,” stated Air Force regarding recent accessibility improvements at Clune Arena.
Perry currently averages 16.7 points per game, ranking second in the conference, and has scored 1,578 career points—just shy of surpassing Riley Snyder for fourth place all-time at Air Force and first among Division I players in program history. Adams has averaged over twelve points across her last four games, marking her most productive stretch as a Falcon.
McNabb leads the Mountain West in offensive rebounding (4.5 per game) and ranks second nationally in that category. She also stands third in total rebounds (8.4 per game) within the league and is second among conference players in steals per game (2.14).
In their previous meeting this season on December 17, Utah State defeated Air Force 65-53 after pulling away late in Logan. Keelie O’Hollaren led Air Force with sixteen points during that contest.
Historically, Air Force holds a narrow edge over Utah State with fourteen wins to fifteen losses but has won nine of their last ten meetings before dropping their most recent encounter.
Access procedures for intercollegiate athletic events at the U.S. Air Force Academy have changed; visitors without Department of Defense identification must now obtain monthly visitor passes rather than event-specific passes to enter the base for athletic events.
