Air Force Academy’s women’s basketball team is set to host Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 7, at 1:00 p.m. MT in Clune Arena. This marks Grand Canyon’s first visit to the Academy since joining the Mountain West Conference.
Air Force currently holds a 10-12 overall record and is 4-8 in conference play. The Falcons recently secured a home win against Utah State, finishing with a score of 73-50. Senior Emily Adams led the team with a career-high double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Milahnie Perry added 19 points. Perry now has 1,597 career points and is just 18 away from becoming Air Force’s all-time Division I scoring leader.
Adams’ recent performance is part of her most productive stretch at Air Force, averaging 14.4 points over the last five games and recording six double-digit scoring games this season.
The Falcons have been effective defensively this year, ranking second in the Mountain West for both turnover margin (3.05) and turnovers forced per game (17.59), as well as third in steals per game (9.2) and offensive rebounding (12.5 rpg). Perry’s current average of 16.7 points per game ranks her second in the conference.
Sophomore Jayda McNabb has also contributed significantly by leading the conference in offensive rebounding (4.6 rpg) and ranking third nationally in that category.
As part of Saturday’s event, both the women’s and men’s teams will wear alternate uniforms inspired by the United States Space Force (USSF). According to the release: “The USSF has partnered with Air Force Athletics to provide the unique fit for the 2025-26 athletic year across multiple sports within the Falcon program.” The new uniforms feature official Space Force branding and highlight their core values: Courage, Commitment, Connection, Character.
The U.S. Air Force Academy serves as a primary commissioning source for Space Force Guardians; about ten percent of each class commissions into the USSF annually. The Academy also offers programs related to space operations and satellite development.
Recent trends indicate that Air Force performs strongly when holding opponents below 60 points or leading at halftime. They are currently on track to achieve an above .500 home record at Clune Arena for the first time in over a decade.
Fans attending games should note updated access procedures for entering the U.S. Air Force Academy campus; visitor passes are now issued monthly rather than per event.
“All three sets of stairs and west ADA ramp into Clune Arena are now fully operational,” states the release regarding facility improvements for fans’ convenience.
