Air Force Women’s Basketball lost to Boise State 70-59 at Clune Arena on Wednesday evening. Despite taking more shot attempts than their opponent, the Falcons struggled with accuracy and could not overcome an early deficit.

Senior Milahnie Perry led Air Force in scoring with 17 points, making five of her twelve field goal attempts. Junior Keelie O’Hollaren contributed 12 points, hitting four out of seven shots from three-point range. Senior Alexis Cortez and freshman Bhret Clay each added eight points.

Boise State opened the game with a 10-2 run. Air Force responded by forcing five turnovers in as many minutes, closing the first quarter trailing only by two points at 17-15. Perry scored eight points in the opening quarter for the Falcons.

At halftime, Air Force trailed 31-23. The team forced a total of sixteen turnovers in the first half but struggled offensively, shooting just two-for-fourteen in the second quarter. Boise State ended the half on a ten-point run.

In the third quarter, both teams exchanged baskets before Boise State extended its lead to eighteen points, their largest advantage of the night. Clay hit back-to-back three-pointers and O’Hollaren added another to slow down Boise State’s momentum. However, Air Force entered the fourth quarter down by sixteen.

O’Hollaren made two more three-pointers early in the fourth quarter to bring Air Force within ten points, but Boise State maintained its lead throughout. In the final four minutes, Air Force outscored Boise State ten to four but was unable to close the gap further.

Air Force Women’s Basketball now holds a record of 7-8 overall and 1-4 in Mountain West play. The team will face San Jose State next on Saturday, January 10 at Provident Credit Union Event Center in San Jose, California.
