Air Force Women’s Basketball secured a 59-49 victory over Wright State on Saturday at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in Boca Raton, Florida. This win ends the team’s two-game stretch in south Florida and brings them back to an even record.

Senior Milahnie Perry led all scorers for the fifth consecutive game, finishing with 19 points. Junior Jayda McNabb achieved her second double-double of the season, recording 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Marissa Hargrave also had a strong performance with eight points, 11 rebounds (tying for the game high), and a career-best four assists.

The Falcons held a narrow 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, taking advantage of early fouls by Wright State and converting eight out of nine free throws. Perry and Hargrave combined for a seven-point run before Wright State cut the lead to one point at the quarter’s end.

In the second quarter, Air Force went on a 12-0 run that extended their lead into double digits. By halftime, Perry had scored 12 points to lead all players, with Hargrave contributing six points.

Wright State narrowed Air Force’s lead in the third quarter, but Air Force responded with a late seven-point surge. Freshman Maddy Jensen hit a left corner three-pointer that helped give Air Force a 45-34 advantage entering the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Wright State reduced the deficit to five points early on. However, four different Falcons contributed to an 8-0 run that gave Air Force its largest lead of the game at 53-40 with two minutes left. Despite some late scoring from Wright State’s Lauren Scott and Rylee Sagester, Air Force maintained control through free throws.

Air Force outperformed Wright State in several statistical categories: field goals made (19), free throws made (18) and attempted (23), rebounds (49), points off turnovers (11), second chance points (four), bench points (12), points in the paint (28), and blocks (three). The team is now undefeated this season when leading in second chance and bench scoring margins.

Air Force Women’s Basketball will conclude its four-game road trip against Utah Valley in Orem, Utah on December 6.
