Air Force Women’s Basketball is set to begin its Mountain West Conference schedule with a game against Utah State on Tuesday, December 17, at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah. The Falcons enter the matchup with a 6-4 record and are currently on a three-game winning streak.

The team’s offense is led by senior Milahnie Perry, who averages 17.6 points per game, and junior Jordyn Devaughn, averaging 9.0 points. Air Force ranks second in the conference for offensive rebounds per game (13.1) and is third in both steals per game (10.6) and turnovers forced per game (19.3). Perry’s scoring average places her 63rd nationally and leads all Mountain West players so far this season.

In their most recent contest, Air Force narrowly defeated New Mexico Highlands 65-64 after overcoming a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter. The win was highlighted by contributions from several players: Devaughn scored 16 points; Perry added 13; Bhret Clay had 12; and Jayda McNabb recorded an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double along with seven assists and five steals.

The Falcons led the Cowgirls in several statistical categories including free throws made (11), rebounds (39), steals (14), points from turnovers (17), second-chance points (11), and fast-break points (17).

Jayda McNabb has been recognized as a consistent performer for Air Force throughout her time at the Academy. Last season as a sophomore, she averaged 7.9 points per game and achieved six double-doubles while leading the team in rebounding. This year, McNabb leads the Mountain West and ranks third nationally in offensive rebounding rate at 45.1 percent. She also stands second in total rebounding within the league at 8.9 per game—55th nationally—and third in steals per game at 2.5.

McNabb has already tallied three double-doubles this season and is averaging 8.3 points while shooting .516 from the field.

Historically, Air Force holds an even record of 16-16 against Utah State but has won nine straight games over the Aggies since the start of the 2021-22 season.

Over the past four seasons, Air Force has posted strong home records: they are 32-17 at home overall; have gone 36-5 when scoring at least 70 points; are undefeated at home when scoring more than 80 or shooting above fifty percent from the field; hold a record of 25-8 when limiting opponents to under sixty points; are successful when out-rebounding opponents or outscoring them in paint production.

This season specifically, Air Force has held opponents to fewer than seventy points in sixteen of eighteen wins and consistently scored more off turnovers than their opposition during those victories.

Senior Milahnie Perry continues to climb up Air Force’s career scoring charts with her current total of 1,418 career points—just sixteen away from sixth place all-time for the program and within reach of higher marks before season’s end.
