Air Force Women’s Basketball was defeated by Wyoming 67-44 on Saturday afternoon in Laramie. The Falcons had a strong defensive showing and won the turnover battle, but could not overcome early shooting difficulties and a fast start by the Cowgirls.

Junior Jayda McNabb led Air Force with 16 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the field, along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Senior Emily Adams contributed 10 points—matching her season high—and recorded four steals, the most in the game.

Wyoming opened the game hitting five of their first seven three-point attempts, while Jane Rumpf made three of five shots in the first quarter. This offensive surge put Air Force behind 23-9 after ten minutes. In the second quarter, Air Force tightened its defense, holding Wyoming to just one basket before the media timeout and only three total field goals in that period. Freshman Maddy Jensen scored on a drive to cut into Wyoming’s lead, bringing Air Force within eleven points. The teams traded scores late in the half as Wyoming held a 31-18 advantage at halftime.

The third quarter saw both teams struggle offensively for several minutes before Perry and Adams scored back-to-back baskets for Air Force. However, Wyoming responded with a run of their own, ending the quarter up 52-31 following a 10-0 stretch.

In the fourth quarter, Air Force again limited Wyoming’s offense early but was unable to build momentum on offense themselves. The Falcons ultimately fell by a final score of 67-44.

Despite the loss, Air Force led Wyoming in several categories: offensive rebounds (12), steals (11), points off turnovers (10), points in the paint (28), second-chance points (eight), and fast-break points (two).

The Falcons now hold an overall record of 8-10 and are 2-6 in Mountain West play. Their next game is against UNLV at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on January 21.
