Senior players Ashley Bible and Alysa Walker made recent history for the Air Force Falcons women’s volleyball team by each recording at least 20 kills in a single match. The achievement occurred during a close 3-2 loss to Northern Colorado at the Academy on September 19. The Falcons initially took control by winning the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-22, but Northern Colorado responded by taking the next three sets, 25-21, 25-19, and 15-8.
Bible led all players with a career-high of 21 kills and became the first Falcon since Denise Ssozi (2016-19) to record multiple matches with at least 20 kills. Walker added 20 kills, becoming the 22nd Falcon to reach this mark at the Division I level.
Sophomore Grace Fiaseu contributed 10 kills and played a key role in defense with five blocks, including two solo. Senior Alex Hatchett had six blocks and was one of several Falcons contributing to the team’s total of twelve blocks. Senior Jordan Suan provided two service aces and led the team in digs with sixteen. Bible and Walker also reached double-digit digs, earning double-doubles for their efforts. Sophomore Mia Loyd recorded a team-high of forty-nine assists.
The Falcons will finish their non-conference schedule and conclude the Into the Blue Invitational by hosting Utah Tech at home on September 20 at 11:00 a.m.
