The Air Force women’s volleyball team secured its 10th win of the season with a 3-1 victory over UNLV at the Cadet East Gym on October 4. After losing the first set 20-25, the Falcons came back to win the next three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-14. This result brings Air Force’s overall record to 10-6 and their Mountain West Conference record to 2-2.
Defensively, Air Force recorded a total of 11 blocks in the match. Sophomore Grace Fiaseu led with eight assisted blocks. Bella Christensen contributed four assisted blocks, while senior Alex Hatchett added three blocks—one solo and two assisted. In total, eight players from Air Force contributed to blocking against UNLV.
On offense, Fiaseu had 13 kills with a .478 hitting percentage. Alysa Walker led with 15 kills and also had 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Senior Ashley Bible added another 13 kills. Hatchett was close behind with nine kills, marking her second-highest total this year. Walker and Mia Loyd each served two aces during the match. Loyd also led defensively with 32 digs. Freshman Sam Pope achieved a career-high with 16 assists, and senior Jordan Suan contributed 15 digs.
Looking ahead, Air Force will travel to Northern California for two conference matches next week. The team is scheduled to play Fresno State on Thursday, October 9, followed by San Jose State on Saturday, October 11.
