The Air Force track and field team concluded its participation at the Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colorado, on Saturday, January 17, 2026. The event marked the team’s first competition of the year and featured several notable performances by both men’s and women’s squads.

Senior Jettason Rose secured a victory in the men’s 200-meter dash with a time of 21.24 seconds. This result improved his previous best by 0.03 seconds and maintained his position as No. 8 on Air Force’s all-time list for the event. Rose finished ahead of a field of 31 runners, winning by a margin of 0.16 seconds.

In the mile run, senior Ben Scheller achieved the top collegiate finish with a raw time of 4:05.34, placing second overall among 38 competitors. After adjusting for Boulder’s altitude, Scheller’s time was converted to 3:59.36—the fifth-fastest mile in Air Force history.

Rose also contributed to two of the four fastest times in the men’s 200-meter dash at the meet; sophomore Asher Jenkins placed fourth with a time of 21.65 seconds. Jenkins earned additional third-place finishes in both the 60-meter dash (6.89) and as part of the men’s 4×400-meter relay team alongside freshman Zachary DeWalt, sophomore Christopher Johnson, and junior Zachary King (3:18.84).

Freshman Zachary DeWalt finished seventh in the individual men’s 400-meter race with a time of 48.40 seconds—ranking as the program’s 21st-fastest performance at that distance—and freshman Ryan Daly posted a top-10 finish in the men’s 800 meters (1:54.02). Sophomore Alex Pinckney added another top-10 mark for Air Force in the men’s 3000 meters (8:43.86).

On the women’s side, junior Liliane Aittama won her event by more than one second with an effort of 2:11.99 in the women’s 800 meters; teammate Rachel Fereday finished seventh (2:16.05). In addition to these results, juniors Cam Bodine and Anna Harden placed sixth (4:59.33) and seventh (5:02.63), respectively, in the women’s mile run; Harden’s altitude-adjusted time was recorded as her career best at that distance.

Air Force athletes made eight improvements to their sprint records during Saturday’s events, including multiple entries from sophomore Sarah Reynolds and freshmen Amaya Stepp and Eleanor Borchard—all three impacting Air Force’s all-time Top-25 list for women’s sprints or hurdles events.

The Falcons are scheduled to return to Boulder next weekend for further competition at the Colorado Invitational; field events will be held Friday while running events are set for Saturday at CU Indoor Practice Facility.
