The Air Force track and field team will travel to Southern California for three days of competition, according to an April 14 announcement. The Falcons are scheduled to participate in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa from April 16-18, as well as the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on April 16 and the Beach Invitational on April 17-18, both held in Long Beach.
These events provide an opportunity for the Falcons to compete against high-level opponents and continue their season progression. The Bryan Clay Invitational will take place at Cougar Stadium on the campus of Azusa Pacific University, with daily admission set at $15. Live results will be available through FinishedResults.com, while FloTrack will offer a broadcast via its subscription service.
The Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and Beach Invitational are set for Jack Rose Track at Long Beach State University. Admission prices range from $10-$12 per day depending on age group, with tickets available at the LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid ticket office. Both meets will also feature live results online.
This week, the men’s team returned to No. 20 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings—the second-highest placement in program history—marking their third consecutive week among the NCAA Top 25. Four Falcons currently hold top-10 national rankings: Texas Tanner is fourth nationally in discus throw (62.08m) and sixth in hammer throw (72.26m), Morgan Glaser is fifth in high jump (1.87m), Jettason Rose ranks eighth in the 200-meter dash (20.45 seconds, altitude), and Jayden Nats is ninth in the 10,000-meter run (27:59.31).
The men’s discus squad of Tanner, Evan Keefe, Massimo Grisotto, and Ian Morris holds a No. 2 ranking based on cumulative season-best marks among teams nationwide; other event squads also rank within national top-20 positions this week.
Texas Tanner was named National Athlete of the Week by USTFCCCA on April 13 after achieving what was described as “the No. 2 discus mark in NCAA history,” making him the first Falcon athlete to receive this weekly honor from USTFCCCA.
Looking ahead, Air Force plans a return to Des Moines next week for participation in the Drake Relays from April 23-25.
