The Air Force track and field team is set to compete at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder this weekend. The event will be held over two days, with field events scheduled for Friday, January 23, and running events on Saturday, January 24. All competitions will take place at the Ford Indoor Practice Facility on the University of Colorado campus.
Spectators attending the meet are required to follow Colorado’s “Clear Bag Policy,” and only water is permitted inside the facility. Tickets can be purchased online through CUBuffs.com, and live results will be available during the event. Highlights from Air Force performances will also be shared on the team’s official social media accounts [@af_tfxc].
The schedule for Friday includes women’s pole vault, men’s pole vault, women’s long jump, men’s long jump, women’s triple jump, men’s high jump, women’s high jump, women’s weight throw, men’s weight throw, men’s shot put, and women’s shot put. On Saturday, events include preliminaries for the 60-meter hurdles and dash as well as mile run, 1000-meter run, 600-meter run (women only), finals for hurdles and dash races, 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, 200-meter dash, 3000-meter run and the 4×400-meter relay.
Texas Tanner from Air Force currently holds a top-five national ranking in both weight throw and shot put. His mark of 79 feet 4 inches in weight throw ranks second in the NCAA while his shot put distance of 64 feet 10½ inches stands fourth nationally.
Following this weekend’s competition in Boulder, Air Force will travel out of state next week to participate in its first DeLoss-Dodds Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas.
