The Air Force track and field team will begin its 2025-26 season at the Wyoming Power Meet on Saturday, December 6. The event will take place at the Hager-LeBar Indoor Track and Field Venue inside War Memorial Fieldhouse in Laramie, Wyoming, starting at 11:00 a.m. Mountain Time.
Teams participating in the meet include Air Force, Colorado State, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and Wyoming. The competition schedule features events such as the hammer throw, shot put, pole vault, high jump, long jump, triple jump, various sprints and hurdles races, and a 4×400-meter relay. Live results for the meet will be provided by Rapid Results. Highlights from Air Force athletes will be posted on the team’s official social media accounts.
Senior Texas Tanner is returning to compete for Air Force this season. Tanner is an indoor All-American who holds both Air Force and All-Academy records in the shot put (63-7) and weight throw (76-11.75). He is also one of three returning indoor all-conference performers for the Falcons alongside Liliane Aittama (800-meter run) and Dominykas Remeikis (mile run). The women’s team brings back Brooke Coleman, who holds the program’s record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68 seconds. One member of last year’s record-setting 4×400-meter relay squad also returns.
Because renovations are ongoing at Cadet Field House Indoor Track, Air Force will compete away from home throughout this indoor season.
Eight members of the current roster are from Colorado; these include Matthew Edwards from Monument as well as athletes from Breckenridge, Cascade, Denver, Glenwood Springs, Highlands Ranch, and Longmont.
Ryan Cole enters his fourth year as Director of Track & Field and Cross Country for Air Force while marking his twelfth year coaching men’s middle distance and distance runners. Scott Steffan is serving his fourth year as head coach of track and field with nineteen years overseeing vertical jumps for the Falcons; he also manages multi-event athletes. Assistant coaches Laura Bowerman (women’s middle distance/distance) and Kyle Lillie (throws) complete this season’s staff.
Following their appearance in Laramie this weekend, Air Force plans to compete next at the Potts Invitational in Boulder on January 16-17.
