The Air Force track and field team is set to begin its 2026 indoor season at the Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colorado. The event will be held over two days, starting with field events on Friday, January 16, and continuing with running events on Saturday, January 17. All competitions will take place at the Indoor Practice Facility on the University of Colorado campus.

The meet will follow a structured schedule, with six field events scheduled for Friday and all running events taking place on Saturday. Spectators are required to comply with Colorado’s “Clear Bag Policy,” and only water is permitted inside the facility. Tickets can be purchased online through CUBuffs.com, and live results will be available during the competition. Highlights from Air Force athletes will be shared via the team’s official social media accounts.

These include Matthew Edwards from Monument; Dominykas Remeikis and Josh Shriver from Breckenridge; Cody Kelley from Cascade; Ryan Hajek from Denver; Ella Johnson from Glenwood Springs; Jayden Nats from Highlands Ranch; and Ella Pears from Longmont.

Ryan Cole continues in his fourth season as Director of Track & Field and Cross Country for Air Force, marking his twelfth year coaching men’s middle distance and distance runners. Head Coach Scott Steffan is also in his fourth year leading the track and field team while overseeing jumps and multi-event athletes for a nineteenth season. They are joined by assistant coaches Laura Bowerman (women’s middle distance/distance), Kyle Lillie (throws), and newcomer Dan Stoll (sprints/hurdles). Additional support comes from former coaches Scott Irving (javelin) and Mark Stanforth (distance), along with former Falcons 1Lt AJ Kedge (recruiting) and 1Lt Michelle Roca (hurdles).

Reflecting on recent achievements, Texas Tanner was recognized as Mountain West Men’s Field Athlete of the Week on December 9 after delivering two NCAA-leading throws at the Wyoming Power Meet. This marked his seventh time receiving this award.

Following this weekend’s meet, Air Force will return to Boulder for the Colorado Invitational scheduled for January 23-24.
