The Air Force track and field program has received recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for academic achievement during the recent indoor and outdoor seasons. Six individual athletes and one team were honored for their combined efforts in academics and athletics.
Jason Renze, a recent graduate with a 3.50 GPA in astronautical engineering, was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the third year in a row. Junior India Jones, who holds a 3.79 GPA in biology, earned her second consecutive all-academic honor. Max Sannes (3.70 GPA, civil engineering) and Ally Peterson (3.33 GPA, biology), both recognized previously by the USTFCCCA for cross country, received their first academic honors for track and field this year.
First-time honorees also included junior Zach Ayers (3.47 GPA, geospatial science) and freshman Brayden Richards (3.57 GPA, management).
The women’s track and field team was recognized as an All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA after finishing the 2025 season with a cumulative 3.08 grade-point average. This marks the seventh consecutive year that the women’s team has achieved this distinction.
“The list of USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes is determined by both academic and athletic achievement during the track and field season,” according to the association’s criteria statement. “To qualify, the student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 of an individual event or as a member of a relay that was ranked in the top 48 on the official NCAA POP list; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.”
