Seven divers from the Air Force Academy are set to participate in the NCAA Zone E Qualifiers, which will take place from March 9 to 11 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. The group consists of four men and three women who have qualified for various events based on their performances throughout the season.
Freshman Lucas Gerten will compete in all three diving disciplines: the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform. During the season, Gerten broke Academy qualifying-score records in each event. His notable achievements include a score of 384.45 on the platform and 380.40 on the 3-meter at the MPSF Championships, where he finished second in both events. C4C Lexi Gregory is scheduled to compete in both the 3-meter and platform events. Gregory, who is from Scottsdale, Arizona, set an Academy record with a score of 279.80 on the platform to qualify for Zones and earned Mountain West All-Conference honors after placing fifth in both her events at the MW Championships.
Kacey Hu will represent Air Force on both springboards after recording six qualifying scores during the season. Hu posted a mark of 282.80 on the 1-meter at the MW Championships to secure her spot at Zones and entered her name into the Academy record book.
Korbin Moyer qualified for Zones with a score of 313.80 on platform at the Air Force Diving Invitational and will compete solely in that event.
Brady Nichol will participate across all three boards after earning fourteen qualifying scores over the course of this season, including top marks at recent championship meets.
Sophomore Chloe Perkins has also qualified for all three boards, achieving her best scores during competitions against other collegiate teams this year.
