Air Force football head coach Troy Calhoun, senior offensive lineman Trevor Tate, and junior inside linebacker Dallas Daley spoke with the media ahead of their upcoming game against Wyoming.
The Air Force Falcons currently lead the all-time series against Wyoming with 31 wins, 28 losses, and three ties. In conference play, Air Force holds a slight edge at 22-21. The Falcons have performed better at home in Colorado Springs with a record of 19-12-1, while they are 11-16-2 when playing in Laramie and have won the only neutral site meeting.
In their most recent matchup in 2024, Wyoming defeated Air Force 31-19 in Laramie. During that game, Air Force led at halftime after scoring 13 unanswered points in the second quarter. Key plays included a touchdown run by Kade Frew—his first career touchdown—and two field goals by Matthew Dapore. However, Wyoming responded strongly in the second half with two touchdown runs from Evan Svoboda and Tyler King, along with a field goal from John Hoyland. Aiden Calvert scored for Air Force on a career-long 37-yard run to narrow the gap, but a failed two-point conversion kept them behind. Svoboda’s second touchdown sealed the win for Wyoming. The Cowboys finished with 361 total yards and held possession for over 31 minutes; Air Force recorded 320 total yards. Calvert led the Falcons’ rushing attack with 54 yards while Frew added another 52 yards. Quarterback John Busha completed six of thirteen passes for 115 yards, and Cade Harris caught five passes for a season-high of 106 yards. On defense, Jamari Bellamy had a career-best performance with eleven tackles.
The last time these teams met at Falcon Stadium was in 2023 when Air Force overcame an early deficit to defeat Wyoming 34-27. After falling behind by two touchdowns in the first quarter due to an Andrew Peasley run and pass for scores, Owen Burk put Air Force on the board late in the first quarter. John Lee Eldridge III tied it up midway through the second quarter before another Peasley passing touchdown gave Wyoming back the lead going into halftime at 21-17 following a Dapore field goal.
Air Force started strong after halftime with a long drive capped by Zac Larrier’s one-yard touchdown run to take their first lead of the game. Dapore added another field goal before Peasley threw his third touchdown pass to tie things up at twenty-seven each; Trey Taylor blocked the extra point attempt to keep it tied. Eldridge III then clinched victory for Air Force with a late-game fifty-eight yard rushing score.
In that contest, Air Force totaled over four hundred yards on offense—including three hundred fifty-six rushing—with Larrier running for a career-high one hundred eleven yards and Emmanuel Michel contributing ninety-seven more on the ground. Defensively, Taylor made ten tackles (including one tackle for loss) and blocked an extra point attempt; Alec Mock also had ten tackles while Bo Richter contributed two tackles for loss and one sack.
